HeatEx Direct

Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger (PHE)

A gasketed plate heat exchanger stacks corrugated metal plates in a bolted frame to form alternating hot and cold flow channels. The frame can be opened for plate cleaning, gasket replacement, inspection, and capacity adjustment by adding or removing plates. It is commonly used in HVAC, water heat recovery, food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, marine, and general industrial utilities.

Product Details

Maintenance access

The bolted frame can be opened so plates and gaskets can be inspected, cleaned, replaced, or reconfigured as the duty changes.

Selection boundary

For very high pressure, high temperature, aggressive, or dirty fluids, welded, semi-welded, spiral, or tubular alternatives may be more suitable.

Key Advantages

High turbulence in corrugated plate channels improves heat-transfer efficiency.
Openable frame supports mechanical cleaning, inspection, and gasket replacement.
Capacity can be adjusted by changing the plate count within frame limits.
Plate and gasket materials can be selected for water, food, chemical, and utility services.
Compact structure reduces installation space compared with many tubular exchangers.
Suitable for clean and low-to-moderate fouling liquid duties with planned maintenance access.
